Jeremiah Zaretsky
Liberated Wailing Wall Alumnus / Missionary Trainee
My name is Jeremiah Zaretsky and I grew up in a Jewish home in Toronto. What may surprise you is that my home was Messianic - I always heard about Jesus, the Messiah of Israel. My mom always read me the Bible and taught me about the God of Abraham and His promised Messiah, Y’shua (Jesus in Hebrew). When I was four I remember asking my mom some questions about God. I wondered about Heaven and how to get there. She answered them the best she could and by the end of our conversation, she asked me if I wanted to ask Y'shua into my heart and life and I said yes!
I have stayed with the Lord ever since that day. There have been rough times for sure -- I remember that when I was younger I had a lot of anger. I don’t even remember what I was angry about, but God turned me around and my hope is in Him. I have a passion for God and I know that God has blessed me with gifts and talents, so that I might give it all back to him!
The Lord has stretched me and used me in ways that I could never imagine. In the summer of 1998 I went to New York City on a short term teen program with Jews for Jesus called Halutziim. While I was there I had a chance to meet other Jewish Christian teens from around the country. I also did street evangelism and was able to tell some of my Jewish people about Jesus.
I know that the Lord wants me to serve him and glorify Him. I plan to go to Bible College, and I will see what the Lord has planned for me there. I always know that the Lord is watching over me, and that He knows the plans He has for me. (Jeremiah 29:11) My focus in life now is to walk like Jesus did, and to be as close to the Lord as I can.
God Bless you!
Jeremiah presently serves on our mobile evangelistic music team, The Liberated Wailing Wall.
